Autumn Adventures and Festive Cheer
The Autumn term has flown by, and what a wonderful, action-packed few months it has been for our school community. Despite the challenges posed by terrible flooding in Monmouth, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to remain open and provide a safe space for pupils, our thoughts go to all those families, businesses and community groups effected. We began the term with a beautiful Harvest Service at St Thomas’ Church, where families joined us to celebrate and give thanks. Soon after, pupils enjoyed a seasonal adventure at Billy Bob’s Pumpkin Patch, embracing the autumn spirit in style. One of the standout moments this term was a surprise visit to Chepstow Drill Hall, made possible thanks to a successful Go See grant bid from the Arts Council of Wales. For pupils this was an opportunity to use and hear Welsh in a real-world setting beyond the classroom, helping them see the language come alive in the arts. It was an inspiring day that combined creativity, culture, and language in a way that truly enriched their learning. November brought a successful Open Morning, where we welcomed prospective families and showcased the vibrant and nurturing learning environment we offer.
As the festive season approached, excitement was building! Our Christmas celebrations included a visit from a travelling Welsh language show, a magical Breakfast with Santa, and a heartwarming Nativity performance for families. Pupils and staff also enjoyed a traditional school Christmas dinner, bringing everyone together in the spirit of the season. Looking ahead to January we are excited to welcome our new rising 3 nursery pupils, and we can’t wait to see what the Spring term has in store.
